Work Update - SBI to WP Transfer Update

Overview
Work Period: Aug 27 & 28, 2015
Hours Worked: 11:10 @$3.50/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $35.18*
(*Exclusive of $3.91 charged by oDesk)
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

SBI to WP Transfer Update:

  • Finally, I researched a find a way to log into the WordPress dashboard without changing the nameserver.
  • The solution is to install the WordPress on your temporary URL, and then editing the wp-config.php file in the cPanel file manager.
  • Note that after we move all of our content to the WordPress and change the nameserver, then we have to restore the wp-config.php file to it's actual version. Only after then, we can access the WordPress dashboard using the usual PPG-wp-login URL.
  • So now you can log into the WP dashboard
  • Then I installed a free theme. Sue Huckle has recommended this theme (Weaver II) in her article about SBI to WordPress Transfer.
  • Then manually transferred the PPG homepage to WP as a page.
  • I also changed the permalink structure and made it identical to SBI i.e. HTML at the end of each URL.
  • Also made some other design changes and updated the theme to it's latest version.
  • Also installed a plugin for SEO called Seo cost. This is a very handy tool and helps you a lot in order to improve your SEO.
  • Note that initially I used a pretty simple theme design and then I moved to a better one and also fine-tuned that a bit. I think the site is looking much better now. Isn't it?

Changes Made After Your Feedback Video
  • Updated the footer after your feedback
  • Please note that this workaround is the proper way of doing it as I've researched the workaround within the Inmotion hosting support articles.
  • As you asked, I have tried to upload a couple of pages to the new hosting using an FTP tool. Again, it was little challenging because at the moment we are using a temporary URL and our main FTP server is not accessible at the moment, so I researched a lot in order to find the workaround.
  • Finally, I successfully transferred a couple of pages to the new hosting, but we cannot edit these pages from WP dashboard. So we can transfer the entire site using an automated tool, but we cannot edit our pages from WordPress.
    • I researched some more on this topic and found that there are some plugins that can transfer your HTML pages into WP. I installed and used one of them, but the finished results were extremely bad.
    • Now as you've asked, I am manually uploading pages to WP and have added 11 pages so far. Please have a review of high priority\Financials of Pennypinching\PPG WP Uploaded.xlsx.
    • Uploading pages from the navigation bar and also updating the WP site navigation bar as well, so have a review and let me know if you need any changes.

Work Update - SBI to WordPress Transfer

    Overview
    Work Period: Aug 18 & 19, 2015
    Hours Worked: 10:30 @$3.50/hour

    Evernote Work Updates:
    • Adsense in Google Analytics

I have worked on this note and updated it with the recent changes made by the Google. Google has removed the Adsense reporting and added another section "Publisher" and all information related to Adsense data is now placed there.

I have also added another tag "Pending for Validation", so please review this note and validate if it's finished.
    • Experiment: move PPG site to Wordpress to economize hosting.

I already have researched some WP hosting services in the past. Now I have researched some more services and comparison between different hosting services. Please review the attached document (Duly Copied to Instructions\high priority\Archive)

    SBI to WordPress Transfer:
    • Thanks for letting me know about the hosting purchase, I have updated the specific Evernote about this.
    • Also researched and put some articles related to this topic.

Moving Wedgie Dares Auto-responder to Aweber.
    • I have started moving the Wedgie Dares AR to Aweber
    • Created a new sign up form for this

    • Turned the existing thank you page to a Tier page (Nofollow, Noindex).
    • Also uploaded the first three parts of the auto-responder to Aweber.
    • Thanks for explaining the different between the broadcast and follow-up messages. Aweber's new interface, especially their email editor is slightly difficult to use. I am trying to apply a design template, but at the moment it's not being implemented on the existing content.

    Other Administrative Support:
    • Watched the Skype call video in which you have reviewed the work updates and published all reviewed work updates after making appropriate changes.
    • Since Alternate ads weren't working well on the party games site, so I created new rotating banner ads and replaced with the old ones.
    • Some of the experiments have been ended within the Adsense account, so I have chosen and implemented the winners.

    • As you asked during the Skype call, I was about to move the EU Google policy cookie note at the bottom of the page, but as I interacts with the Zopim chat widget, so I didn't make that change.

Work Update - Evernote and BB2 Conversion Service

    Overview
    Work Period: Aug 17, 2015
    Hours Worked: 5:40 @$3.50/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $17.85*
(*Exclusive of $1.98 charged by oDesk)
    Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

    Evernote Work Update:
    • Thank you so much for sharing your login credentials with me. Although I have now successfully added the required tags and I can also use these tags from my own Evernote, but it was not an easy exercise.
    • I had no idea when I added all of the required tags from your account and then I switched back to my account, all tags were disappeared. I have tried many times, but I failed every time.
    • Later, I found a working solution for this. I moved all newly created tags under the placeholder "ppg". I know that some tags are irrelevant, but that was the only way out in order to use these tags.

    • Next step was to tag one of the shared notes with all of these tags and then I can access and use these tags from my Evernote account.
    • After then I have tagged all notes moved from Catch to Evernote with their respective tags.

    BB2 Conversion Service Update:
    • Prepared and sent a quotation reply to the potential BB2 conversion client.
    • I have also copied you as BCC in the mail.

    Content 2.0 Administrative Support:
    • Received a comment from a visitor on the Exposures Dare page, I have created an Evernote for you to comment on this.
    • Received another 2 short C2 submissions. Both have them original photos, but as the photos were explicit so I quickly edited them and published them with their stories. Since the visitor has also submitted his original email address, so I have published them without distributing them to RSS feed.
    • Please have a review of:
    1. Laundromat
    2. Pool Party Strip
    • Both stories were too short to be published alone so I have merged them into two separate pages.
    • Also move the original images to the 'Adult Content' folder in case we want to use them on the adult section.
    • Moved both URLs to Evernote for commenting.

Work Update - Moving Note from Catch to Evernote

    Overview
    Work Period: Aug 13 & 14, 2015
    Hours Worked: 10:10 @$3.50/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $32.03*
(*Exclusive of $3.56 charged by oDesk)
    Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Moving Note from Catch to Evernote:
    • Moved all notes from Catch to Evernote.
    • As I already told in previous work update that I am still not able to tag them correctly. I have proposed some tags in Tags Reqd.xlsx. Although you already have added some of them into the tags library, but I cannot find them. Either those tags are not saved or the specific note which has these tags is not shared with me. Please have a review of the Evernote tags library and re-add all tags from the spreadsheet.
    • Watched other videos that you recorded for Evernote tasks. Both these videos were mostly information related.
    • Moved all to-be-commented items from Link-building spreadsheet to Evernote.

    Content 2.0 Administrtive Support:
    • Received a short C2 submission which I submitted as a comment under the post "Licking dares"
    • Received another short submission which I added as a content into Great Dares for Guys and Girls

    Other Administrative Support:
    • Reviewed your Hubstaff work diary, but did not find anything less productive.
    • As I mentioned in one of the previous work updates that I have moved major part of cleaned up Dropbox to One-drive. Please download and save this to your local drive so that I can remove this from One-drive.
    • Watched the long Skype conversation video and made all necessary changes.
    • Sent an email to Hannah for not providing her more work as we discussed during our Skype call.
    • Abi has submitted the Hubstaff Draft transcript, I have reviewed that and will send to Hannah for Proofreading.
    • Watched some other skype call related videos as well.
    • Published some of the reviewed work updates after making necessary changes.

Work Update - BB2 Conversion Service

    Overview
    Work Period: Aug 11 & 12, 2015
    Hours Worked: 10:10 @$3.50/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $32.03*
(*Exclusive of $3.56 charged by oDesk)
    Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

    BB2 Conversion Service Update:
    • Prepared a BB2 conversion quote and sent to the potential BB2 client.

    Proofreading Project Update:
    • Implemented proofread changes to the following Eric Interview Pages:
      1.  Initial tasks with virtual assistants
      2. Fire assistant
      3. Part-time vs full-time virtual assistants
      4. Full-time virtual assistants
      5. Team of Virtual Assistant
      6. Part-time virtual assistant
      7. YouTube marketing strategy

    Simpleology to Evernote Project Update:
    • Watched the long video you have recorded in order to provide feedback for Evernote task.
    • I don't have access to Simpleology notes so please delete all notes because I have moved them all to Evernote.

    Other Administrative Support:
    • Fixed the broken link you sent via LinkFixIt report.
    • Also checked both sites for other broken links and fixed all occurrences as well.
    • Had two long Skype sessions with you. Also added 30 minutes of manual time because Upwork didn't uploaded some time while I was talking to you via Skype. Perhaps there was not keyboard activity at that time.
Moving Notes from Catch to Evernote:
    • I have started moving all notes from Catch to Evernote.
    • Thanks for adding my proposed tags to Evernote Library, but I am still having trouble with them.
    • I am still not able to use any of the tags you have recently added to the library. I think this is because of the already existence of all added tags.
    • After that I've reviewed the tag library and found out that some of my tags (that I added while adding items into the Sipleology to-do list) were not exported to your tags library.
    • For example I have tagged a lot of notes with "C2", but I do not find "C2" tag within the library. Hope this is understandable because it's sort of little complicated.

Work Update - Content 2.0 and General Administration Support

    Overview
    Work Period: Aug 10, 2015
    Hours Worked: 5:50 @$3.50/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $18.38*
(*Exclusive of $2.04 charged by oDesk)
    Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

    Content 2.0 Administration Support:
    • Received a short submission on the party games site. Since it was too short to be published alone, so I posted it as a comment under Funniest Dares List.

    • Received some spam comments on Ideal-Helper so I have deleted and banned all such comments.

Feedback about Hiring a New Virtual Assistant:
    • Listened to a High priority audio, where you have discussed and asked my feedback about hiring another virtual assistant at $1/hour and will this be ethical from cost of living point of view.

Your first question was to hire someone from UpWork on a fixed price contract and also ask them to log hours via Team app, and also if it will get your account in trouble. I don't think that doing this will get your account banned because UpWork still allows (for those contractors who were hired before the $3 policy update) to work below $3, so this is clearly not against their terms of service.

But I am not sure whether it is ethical or not because contractors know that the minimum wage is $3/hour so I don't think that this will work for a longer period of time. Newbies will apply for these kinds of jobs just to get some initial feedback, but would not prefer to work for a long time.

Besides that, I personally think that Philippines has much cheaper cost of living as compare to Pakistan. Over the years cost of living has been increased drastically here. After listening to this audio, I got some feedback from actual potential workers (I usually get some requests from different people who are willing to work online as a freelancer) and most of them are not willing to work at this rate. Minimum they've asked for $2/hour.

My advice is to hire someone from the Philippines at $1 using onlinejobs.ph or some similar service and ask them to log time via Hubstaff (or another similar free software). If it's a short-term one time project, then it's fine to hire someone from UpWork. But as I mentioned earlier that UpWork's minimum wage policy is $3/hr and if we will hire someone at $1 (and ask him/her to also log their working hours via Team app), he will ask for salary raise or will quit after some time.

    Other Administrative Support:
    • Watched all pending work update feedback videos and published all reviewed work updates.
    • Watched another high priority audio where you asked my consent about managing your personal tasks (Non-website related), as always I have no reservations doing them and I am 100% okay and willing to do this as well :)
    • Since I ran out of high priority videos and tasks, so I have now implementing proofread changes to the Eric interview pages and already have worked through the following pages:
    1. Virtual assistant communication
    2. Administrative virtual assistant
    3. Virtual assistant work revisions
    4. Virtual assistant feedback
    5. Video screen recording
    6. Getting started with a virtual assistant
    7. VA Communication Tips
    8. Virtual assistant concerns
    9. How to share large files
    10. Communication with virtual assistants

Work Update - Dropbox Cleanup and Other Administrative Support

    Overview
    Work Period: Aug 06 & 07, 2015
    Hours Worked: 10:20 @$3.50/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $32.55*
(*Exclusive of $3.62 charged by oDesk)
    Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

    Content 2.0 Administrative Support:
    • Received a short C2 story, which I posted as a comment under My First Kiss

    Other Administrative Support:
    • Updated PPG financial spreadsheet with the Adsense income for the month of July 2015.
    • Note that I am unable to view Adsense data on the Google Analytics dashboard.
    • Watched the high priority video about reviewing your Hubstaff diary. Reviewed your work diary and didn't found anything less productive
    • In one of the work update videos you have asked me to reply a possible BB2 conversion client, but unfortunately I am not able to access any BB2 conversion related email from Get Form Data.
    • Watched the video about Adsense Custom Channels report and set up backup ads for all ad units we used on party games site.
    • Also made other changes that you've asked in the video

    Dropbox Cleanup Task:
    • Well, this was not as simple and easy as it looks, but I actually cleaned up more than 5Gbs of data from Dropbox. Some of the files and videos were totally obsolete, so I removed them straight away. However, in most of the cases I have moved the data (Which is over 4GB) to OneDrive. I will share the link of that folder to you once it's completely synchronized and will request you to save this folder somewhere in your local drive.

Google Adsense - EU user consent policy - cookies Update:
    • Read both forum posts that you've asked in one of the high priority videos and implemented the solution on all three sites. Please have a review and let me know if you need any changes.

    Evernotes Tags Issue:
    • Watched all videos that you have recorded to explain Evernote tags and it's extremely disappointing that tags are not working in Evernote as you anticipated.
    • I have also researched their FAQs about tags, but didn't find any helpful material.
    • Also experimented a lot to get a suitable way to tag existing notes as we want, but it didn't work out well.
    • At the moment I can only provide you one solution, which is to move all notes (from Simpleology to Shared Notes), then delete all tags created by me and I will then re-tag all posts again.
