Work Update - YouTube Video Project

Overview
Work Period: April 30, 2015
Hours Worked: 5:20 @$3.50/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $16.80*
(*Exclusive of $1.87 charged by oDesk)
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

YouTube Video Project:
  • I have reworked and reproduced the video, please have a review of the folder: high priority\Transcription\YouTube Video Project\Hubstaff vs TimeDoctor New V1.1
  • Although I have reworked the video from scratch, but I think the video will look much more presentable with the new site design. I have an idea to use screenshots from the new site design and use the same audio. I will implement this idea on a little part of the video and will then wait for your feedback.

Google Analytics Split Testing:
  • I have manually ended all split tests (only for Ideal-Helper) before reworking the top-traffic pages. Now I have created and re validated all ended tests for the following pages:
    1. CRAIGSLIST PHONE VERIFICATION
    2. HOURLY JOBS
    3. MECHANICAL TURK OUTSIDE OF THE US
    4. ODESK TEAM APPLICATION
    5. HTML PHOTO SLIDESHOW CODE
Other Administrative Support:
  • Mobilize It! for BB1 pages on the PPG site is still not updated.

Work Update - More Changes to the New Site Design

Overview
Work Period: April 28 & 29, 2015
Hours Worked: 11:20 @$3.50/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $35.70*
(*Exclusive of $3.97 charged by oDesk)
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Ideal-Helper Design Changes:
  • Researched a stock photo for the new Ideal-Helper Header, reworked it and replaced it with the default header image.

  • Added Google site specific search widget into the header.
  • Also added social media and RSS links. All links are set to open in a new window (Do follow, please let me know if I should change them to 'nofollow')

  • Redesigned the site header and navigation colors according to the new color scheme.
  • Assuming that you will be busy through out this week, therefore I have reworked the navigation menu and merged the menu items into four main categories. I have saved the previous navigation order to high priority\Ideal-Helper Design\Old Site Navigation.xlsx
  • Please rework and reword the navigation headings accordingly.
  • P.S: There is still some room to add one more menu category into the header.
  • Changed the call-out box color according to the new design and also added a Read more link into each callout box on the homepage. When I was browsing the site on my mobile phone, the link to specific pages were not prominent so I feel that we should add a link at the end of the callout box.

  • Thanks for providing feedback about the design change. I have fixed all grid blocks on the homepage. Now they don't look broken on mobile phone landscape view.

  • However, as you can see in the image above, the number of grid blocks are odd and high in quantity, my suggestion is to remove any three of these so that it only shows two rows. When you browse the site on a mobile phone (portrait view), you will find these grid blocks a little annoying because they are too many.
  • Updated the BlogIt! CSS code to change the blog items design.
  • Also changed the C2 comments width.

  • I have also started re-working on the high traffic pages to fix any broken text due to images, callout boxes and Adsense Ad units:
    1. HTML PHOTO SLIDESHOW CODE Also replaced old images with new ones because old images were too small and low in quality.
    2. CRAIGSLIST PHONE VERIFICATION
    3. MECHANICAL TURK OUTSIDE OF THE US
    4. ODESK INTERVIEW ANSWERS FROM REAL FREELANCERS
    5. GERMAN BUSINESS ETHICS
    6. ODESK TEAM APPLICATION
    7. HOURLY JOBS
    8. FILIPINO BUSINESS ETHICS
    9. MECHANICAL TURK
    10. ODESK
  • Breadcrumb navigation is also broken after the design change and need to be fixed on all tier pages. I have fixed the breadcrumb navigation on the above pages.

Work Update - Ideal-Helper Design Change

Overview
Work Period: April 27, 2015
Hours Worked: 5:40 @$3.50/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $17.85*
(*Exclusive of $1.98 charged by oDesk)
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Challenging

Ideal-Helper Design Change
  • Before implementing the new design template. I took the following measures:
    • Copied all HTML codes for widgets and sign-up forms that we are using on Ideal-Helper, especially within the RHC column.
    • Created a full offline backup of the site
    • Copied all codes that we have placed on the Head section of Ideal Helper
  • After that I implemented the new design, but there are a lot of issues that need a fix now.
  • The biggest issue was with the Nav-bar, which was broken into many lines. This is something where I need your input, because we cannot have more than four-five top navigation categories now. Some of the text needs to be rephrased or shortened so that we can use it properly.

  • Other issues are images and call-out box related which is mostly broken or looking weird.
  •  Homepage was completely messed up, so I took the initiative to rework the home page. I have also checked the page simultaneously on my mobile-phone to check if the changes are working properly.
  • One bug which we should report the Sitesell support team is about the headings of the theme (H1, H2, H3  & H4). All headings are not being wrapped into Google ads or images as shown in the image below.

Contacted SBI! Support to Fix Mobilize It! for BB1 Pages
  • Live chat feature was not available. However, within the forum post it was advised to contact support via email form, so I have emailed support about this issue. You should get a reply from their support team at your personal email.

Work Update - Digital Analytics Fundamentals Course

Overview
Work Period: April 23 & 24, 2015
Hours Worked: 10:10 @$3.50/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $32.03*
(*Exclusive of $3.56 charged by oDesk)
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Digital Analytics Fundamentals Course
  • I have started the Digital Analytics Fundamentals online course. Found it a bit hard at the beginning, and therefore watched the videos more than once in order to understand them better.
  • I have also making notes out of it (Manual hand-written notes) and it really helped me to understand these videos.
  • Its okay for me if I reserve one whole day (Friday) for this task, but I would prefer two half days (i.e Thursday and Friday).
  • I am unable to understand one part of the course, and I would need some helpful explanation from you in this regard. Please explain "How to Setup Context Internally and Externally" from Course 2.2 Core Analysis Techniques.
  • Note: I already have spent full day on this task yesterday, so I will not work on this today. Will resume the course on the coming Thursday-Friday.
  • Additional Note: You asked to only start this site when we have new design implemented on both sites, but as for now we have only implemented the new design on the party games site.

Site Design Changes Update:
  • Read the SBI! Forum post about Mobile Responsive site for BB1 pages. Unfortunately, in the site-central, the option to change BB1 pages to Mobilize It! is not available/updated.
(Mobilize It! slider only available for BB2 pages)
  • Read the forum post further down and found out that there are some other SBIers as well who are facing the same issues and advised to contact the support team.
  • Mobilize It! Feature on PPG site for BB2 pages was also not set up, so I turned it ON as you can see in the image above.
  • Checked Ideal-Helper through Google's mobile-friendly test. Although It passed the test, but I don't have a satisfied user experience of Ideal-Helper site when I browsed it through my mobile phone. Especially the navigation menu is totally broken on Ideal-Helper mobile site.
  • Also Read the SBI! Forum post about the newly launched responsive designs and reviewed the design templates. In the past, it was possible to download the complete design template, but now I couldn't find this option. However here are two designs I would suggest for Ideal-Helper.
(If we use a single column layout, I think this is the best option)

(Two-column Responsive Layout)

Other Administrative Support:
  • Watched a low priority folder, which you recorded for reworking of keywords for PPG site in general. Since you plan to continue this site after the complete BB2 conversion of PPG site, so I have moved the video to Financials of PPG folder after watching that.

Work Update - Virtual Assistant Administrative Support

Overview
Work Period: April 21 & 22, 2015
Hours Worked: 10:00 @$3.50/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $31.50*
(*Exclusive of $3.50 charged by oDesk)
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

  • About your question to coordinate with potential BB1 clients, as always, my answer is 'Yes' and I am ready to take up the challenge :)
  • Listened to the interview conversation between you and the SBI! coach regarding DUYP monetization.
  • Based on the feedback from the SBI! coach, I have created more simple and one color card templates.
  • I have only created the design template, please provide your feedback, if you need any changes or modification, I will implement your proposed changes and will then create rest of the cards.
  • Please review and print the document to see if the card size is fine after printing.
  • Listened to other Audio files from the High priority folder. Now I don't have any open tasks/videos in the High priority folder.
  • Thanks for recording more work videos for me, I have watched one of them, which was about BB2 conversion assistance. I have also read all given material.
  • I have extracted some parts of the conversations that are repetitive and that I can use as well over and again. Please review Email Templates.docx (in BB2 Conversion Assistance folder) and please fine tune the email templates.
  • I have also prepared a short questionnaire that we can ask prior to start the conversion. Please find this questionnaire within the same Email Templates.docx.
  • I am also not sure about the hourly rate you usually quote to clients because within the read conversations, you quoted different rates to different clients.
  • Also please let me know when you start contact the possible clients.

YouTube Video Project Update
  • Based on the feedback you recently provided through a video, I have reworked the source file and created a new version of the YouTube video with a compact view by cropping out the unnecessary parts you highlighted in the video.
  • Also changed some video quality and ratio settings because the quality of old videos were not good.
  • Please review the video New Compact view.mp4 and let me know about your feedback.
  • Old video compact view.mp4 is also placed within the same folder so that you can compare the quality of the video between the two files.
  • P.S: Only reworked and created 1 minute video to see if this works out well. Please provide your feedback and I will recreated the entire video.
  • Your other ideas about adding individual slideshows into the video is also possible. We can also add annotations links directly from YouTube.
  • Also tried to researched a good keyword for this project, but couldn't find a perfect keyword. However, here are some suitable keywords, which we can use with a combination.

Work Update - Content 2.0 Administration Support

Overview
Work Period: April 14 & 16, 2015
Hours Worked: 8:50 @$3.50/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $27.83*
(*Exclusive of $3.09 charged by oDesk)
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Content 2.0 Administration Support:
  • Received many content 2.0 submissions over the last few days. Most of them were short submissions that cannot be posted alone, so I have submitted them as comment under the following pages:
    • Sensual Sucking by Marie - Posted as a comment under Sexy Dare
    •  Finger Tap by Anonymous - Posted as a comment under Sexy Dare

    • Received a naked dare story (Pizza Dare, Streaking and Lots of Embarrassment for Me). The story was long enough to be published individually. However, I have merged into an existing page.
    • Received another Wedgie dare story. This submission is a response of the 7-Days Wedgie Dare Autoresponder. I have published the story after minor cleaning up (Wasn't expecting that). Since the story has less than 300 words, therefore I have merged the post into an existing page: Funny Wedgie Stories.
    • One of the story was too adult and explicit, so I moved that to Adult content folder

Google Analytics Split-testing
  • Split tests for the following pages have been completed, so I implemented the winners as primary pages and created new split-tests with different variations for all pages.
Other Administrative Support
  • Received a comment on the Ideal-Helper site, which has an external link. Also received a similar comment on the party games site, but I am not sure whether I should keep these comments, delete them or should I only remove the external link. Please advise.
  • Cleaned up the Google link-building spreadsheet by removing those links where previous comments have been declined or posted without a link.
  • Also researched http://alphaefficiency.com/ for more potential links where we can send new comments.
  • Read the C2 modification release forum post about setting up Adsense aggressivity. Before implementing the changes suggested within the post, I first checked both websites for current ads displaying on C2 pages. I have checked many of the content 2.0 pages from both sites and above 90% of our C2 pages already have a 336x280 unit at the top.
  • Listened to the audio email where you discussed the Christmas Dare project, and also asked to listen to the coaching Skype conversation. However, I did not listened to the Skype conversation yet. But based on some given feedback, I researched and downloaded a Microsoft Word Template for playing cards and created first page so that you take prints and see if the printed size is good enough for playing cards. Please have a review of: print and test this template.docx.

Work Update - Broken Link Check and Other Administrative Support

Overview
Work Period: April 13, 2015
Hours Worked: 05:40 @$3.50/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $17.85*
(*Exclusive of $1.98 charged by oDesk)
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Broken Links Check
  • Checked both sites for broken links and fixed all broken links. Especially party games site has a lot of broken links after implementing breadcrumb navigation. I have now fixed all broken links.

Transcription Support
  • Abi has transcribed the text for YouTube video, I have reviewed and saved it into the High priority\Transcription\YouTube Video Project.
  • Also sent other files that you recently recorded for transcription.

Split Test Update
  • Due to recent BB2 conversion jobs, I couldn't take care of Google Analytics split testing for the last couple of weeks. Most of the tests were finished, so I have implemented all winners (for all three sites) as the primary page and create new split-tests. Please have a review of high priority\Adsense Split Testing\Tier Pages Testing.xlsx for more details.
