Work Update - How to Get Mechanical Turk User ID Outside the US

Overview
Work Period: Oct 20, 2014
Hours Worked: 5:20 @$2.22/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $10.67*
(*Exclusive of $1.17 charged by oDesk)
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

How to Get Mechanical Turk User ID Outside the US:
  • Watched the video about how to get a Mechanical Turk ID for workers living outside the US.
  • The service that you discussed within the video doesn't produce much trust and also the involved cost is too high that we cannot take a risk.
  • Nevertheless, I have researched a bit more on this topic and turned this research into a document (can be turned into a blog post). Please have a review of How to Get Mechanical Turk Worker IDs Outside the US.xlsx in the High Priority folder

Content 2.0 Administrative Support:
  • Received a user-submitted story, which I published after little formatting and cleaning up. Since the story has enough word count, therefore published it individually. Please review "Bad to Worse"
  • Another submission was very short, so I submitted it as a comment under "Funniest Dare List - Read and Share Funny Dares Here"

Other Administrative Support:
  • About broken Aweber mailing list subscription thank you page, I have investigated it and found that the Subscription Thank you page we have deleted some days ago. Now I have rebuilt the same Thank you page.
  • I have recalculated word count for all submissions where we have used "nofollow" "noindex", and made the following changes:
    • Updated the word count within the excelsheet
    • Merged some of the posts into other pages
    • Removed the "nofollow" "noindex" tag where the word count is sufficient.
  • Thank for the explanation regarding the Brainstorming for the FBI on IH-DUYP task.
  • Distributed more party games website pages to the RSS feed.

Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $10.33*
(*Exclusive of $1.14 charged by oDesk)

User Submitted Content 2.0 Post:
  • A user has submitted a video to party games website, but it hasn't enough word count to be published separately. Therefore, I submitted it as a comment under Teen Girls Doing Adult Dares on Video

  • Another three submissions were way too explicit so I didn't publish them and moved to the Adult Content folder.
  • Approved another submission Teen Dares , but it was less than 300 words, therefore merged into another page Funny Dares List - Read and Share Your Funniest Dares Here.

Sykpe Chatting with Full-time Virtual Assistant:
  • Skyped with Jomvie and discussed following tasks with him.
    • Craigslist project (I will need to create proper instructions for this)

  • Also converted following Facebook articles into offline versions, but did not share these with Jomvie so far. Instead, I have saved them into the Full Time VA folder

  • Watched the video about sexy dares auto-responder and made all necessary changes.

Jomvie's Daily Work Update - Backlogs and Ongoing Task

Overview
Work Period: Oct 16, 2014
Hours Worked: 8:25 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $21.04*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Backlogs and Ongoing Task
  • Out with the old and in with the new. This is my task for today and also catching up with the pending tasks.

Dropbox Status
  • Done updating the sounds. I don’t have the slightest idea with what’s going on with the sound. I tried it before I posted it to be reviewed and it’s working. I hope this will work just fine now. I am still waiting for a further tutorial.
Extracting task instruction from voicemail

  • This is the most fun data extraction or also known as transcribing. It does not require too much attention like hotkeys to play and stop and type.

Rough Estimation
  • Each link has a rough estimation of 5 to 10 minutes for writing the description. Most probably a 15-30 minutes time for three links.
Not Expensive Perks and Benefits
  • This is a new separate post from the original Perks and Benefits. It’s a work in progress, but i’ll take the others first then i’ll work with this one after.

Open Tasks
  • Infographic: Outsourcing to the Philippines --

I already installed a not so new browser (Mozilla), however it still causes delay. So, I conclude that it has something to do with the website’s bug.
  • Pending Posts

There are still posts that needs to be reviewed for some additional information or feedback.
  • Ideal-helper Comments -- regular and daily task
  • Reading Task
  • Low Priority folder --

This folder has been discussed already and made a few samples. The recent task from this folder is audio editing and it’s a work in progress for Dropbox video.
  • Dropbox Video

Jomvie's Daily Work Update - Virtual Administrative Support

Overview
Work Period: Sep 16, 2014
Hours Worked: 7:00 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $17.50*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Updating status
  • Updating and reviewing my task status. This is one way of getting your work thorough and not to overlook on important stuff.

Post Updated
  • I updated some pending post that is ready to be posted on live page.
  • Options of a middle class citizen is a post of breakdowns of expenses and visualizing a middle class citizen’s posh lifestyle

Replied to a comment
  • Wrote a comment offline and replied to a comment on live page. This is the fun part of my task where I will
  • I am sometimes pressured rather challenged on how to keep the thread interactive. But, this has been the most fun part in my daily routine. It’s like an escape or just a break away from serious matters when reading some posts and comments.

Jomvie's Daily Work Update - Piktochart Administrative Task

Overview
Work Period: Oct 15, 2014
Hours Worked: 8:00 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $20.00*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Piktochart

  • I installed a not so new browser (Mozilla Firefox) to be able to log in to Piktochart since it never worked with Chrome as well. Unfortunately, when I opened my infographic file the page is still loading until now. So, I therefore conclude that this case has something to do with their site.
Ideal-Helper Comment
  • I am searching for a link to write a comment on, but I find most of the links are too short to write a comment with. So, I am just scrolling up and down ‘til I can see a suitable link.
Padrino “Palakasan” System--post
  • Padrino System is a notorious and chronic system in the Philippines that involves an easy access in getting a job.
  • If you were in my shoes, I am pretty sure that you’ll be as mad as @#$% just like what  am feeling. Just like what I said, it’s chronic and has rotten it’s way up to the top.

Note: This post is not yet done. I am still ranting some more =)
Power Outage--took an opportunity to work at the coffee shop
  • Earlier this afternoon the power just went off and so I took the opportunity and try working in a coffee shop. Unfortunately, my laptop’s capacity make it a point that working in a coffee shop is not quite a good plan for me

  • This is a screenshot grabbed from my activity sheet on Hubstaff--from my mini-machine. As you can see, the screen is quite a sore to the eye, it’s because it is a mini machine.
  • I think I will try this plan next time when I’ll be able to acquire a new laptop.
Ideal-Helper to Facebook
  • This is a challenge task from my boss on how to create a description using the links from my previous or recent commenting task.
  • Although I am struggling at first in getting my pace, and looking for some links that I can create a description with, so here’s my final draft: Dropbox\High_Priority\IH-for-FB.docx

Overview
Work Period: Oct 13, 2014
Hours Worked: 5:43 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $14.29*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Clearing and Extracting Information
  • It’s Monday and it’s clearing and extracting day--for me. I removed and archived posts that has been posted on live page
Updating Pending Tasks
  • Updated pending task and I am planning to write a separate post regarding “Inexpensive Perks and Benefits”. And as of the moment, I am brainstorming and extracting information on “Padrino System” future post.
Infographic--Outsourcing to the Philippines
  • I already have a draft--sample images. But, as I was scrolling down my outline, there is still a list of advantages. I might rearrange it and will get it done before the week ends.
Ideal-Helper comment
  • It’s not always I’ll get a piece to write my spiel. Sometimes, there are links that does not need my opinion--or so I thought =)

Work Update - Transcription and Content 2.0 Administrative Support

Overview
Work Period: Oct 09 & 10, 2014
Hours Worked: 10:00 @$2.22/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $20.00*
(*Exclusive of $2.20 charged by oDesk)
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

  • Jomvie has asked me to watch a video from his high priority video. I have watched the video, made all changes that were supposed to be implemented by me and jotted down the details I should discuss with Jomvie.

  • Posted another transcribed Bloglet
  • Submitted another Bloglet about Rescuetime, but did not publish it. I have scheduled it to be published tomorrow.
  • Abi has also transcribed all remaining diet blog posts that I have moved to the Diet Blog Posts folder.

Form Build It! project for both websites:
  • Similar to Ideal-helper I have also collected all information for part games website as well, please review  IH-DUYP Implementation.xlsx
  • Regarding the video where you asked me where I'm unclear about the further instructions, at the moment I need some clarification for the 3rd point "Brainstroming". I am not sure how and why I should brainstorm keywords.

AWeber to MoM Preparations:
  • Made following changes after watching the video recorded for moving our email list from AWeber to SBI! Mail-out-Manager.
    • Made all changes you advised to Dares Autoresponder thank you page including images and text links.
    •  After making these changes, removed the Confirmation Thank You page.
    • Fixed invitation jump links from Truth or Dare Questions 1 Page
    • About RHC sign up form, it was not possible to make it similar to Aweber form (Not with SBI!). However, I have changed with the help of HTML and made it virtually identical as AWeber form.
    • Then moved the sign up form to a SWdot.
    • Also fixed Google search widget form width because it was getting out of RHC.

Other Administrative Support:
  •  Received another short story (Sunburned) from Lynn. Since the story was less than 300 words, therefore I merged and created a separate page for Lynn's stories. Please review Lynn’s Naked Dare Stories with Wife and Friends
  • Received another user submitted story, but it was too explicit therefore I moved it to the Explicit content folder.
  • Distributed more party games website pages via RSS feed

Jomvie's Daily Work Update - Filipino Ethics

Overview
Work Period: Oct 10, 2014
Hours Worked: 4:25 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $11.04*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Filipino Ethics
  • Every business has its good and bad side and it will always depend on the person who handles it. In this post, I am going to talk about filipino traits and character.
  • File path: High_Priority\filipino business ethics.docx
C2 Title and Description
  • After all the brain knack. I finally had them all drafted. I just need to focus solely on this task, so I can get the ideas flowing. Though it’s not yet perfect, but I am learning to love the task =)
National Holidays--post
  • This post is a summation of the Philippines regular holiday--traditional and global holidays. We all do love holidays because this is the only time we can feel that we love our job because we are paid to go on a vacation (I know you like it too). lol
Clearing My Pending Posts Inbox
  • To avoid from confusing myself to which posts are posted and which are not, I need to organize these files to avoid duplication.
Infographic Update
  • Today, I installed Mozilla for a better and consistent infographic creation since the other browser does not work so well. But, I am still on the look if it’s really the browser’s fault or the website itself.

Work Update - Updating Video and Infographic

Level of Difficulty: Medium

Updating Project Infographic

This has been the most challenging infographic I had since I am using other tools now to add graphics and other icons. I am still in the getting-to-know stage of the tools that it took me a while to figure things out.

Dropbox Video

Getting to know with what I am doing. This is going to be the first video I am going to make and it’s exciting at the same time nervous for the outcome.

Work Update - Updating Videos and Infographic

Level of Difficulty: Medium

Dropbox Video

I started picking out some images and cropping and cutting them out to look decent and catchy to the eyes. This is not as easy as it sounds and I still have a long way to go. Just having fun while learning some new skill. Great to have this kind of job (The-Jack-of-All-trade).

Project Infographic

My only wish for this project is for the website’s continual smooth operation in catering the needs of their members. And as of today, the site is good, but my brain is saturated with ideas that needs some organizing.

Work Update - Setting Up Auto-responders and Mailout Manager

Overview
Work Period: Oct 02 & 03, 2014
Hours Worked: 10:30 @$2.22/hour

Sexy Dares-1 Page Update:
  • Watched feedback video about the above mentioned page and made the following changes to the page:
    • Changed the page layout to one column
    • Reduced the sizes of all FBI! forms to 80%
    • Fixed all field adjustments you mentioned in the video
    • Removed the "How to get girls eBook cover-page" and placed another image instead of that.
    • Removed sign up form, share it widget and other distractions from the bottom of the page.
    • Researched how we can change the name of the email course (7-Part Sexy Dares Course), but couldn't find any solutions. The only solution is to create a new form based upon the current form.
    • So I created another FBI! form similar to the old one. (New form Name: New Sexy Dare Autoresponder 1)
    • Then copied and created 7 email installments and a thank you page similar to the old one.
    • Replaced the form within the Sexy-dare-1 page.
    • Then I am confused about the rest of the process where you explained:
      • How I should create 7 feedback form,
      • How to attach these 7 forms to 7 emails (and what if we have more),
      • Why we should create 7 separate forms instead of 1 feedback form
      • How to create incentives for each feedback form.
      • And how we will give this incentive to them
    • Update: Thanks for  explaining it in detail, I have watched the video and have no doubts about my concerns now. I have made the following changes after watching the video feedback:

      • Created 5 more feedback forms (Now we have 7 in total, 2 already created by you)
      • Created another 5 feedback page (Now we have 7 in total, 2 already created by you)
        • Feedback Sexy Dare Challenge - One
        • Feedback Sexy Dare Challenge - Two
        • Feedback Sexy Dare Challenge - Three
        • Feedback Sexy Dare Challenge - Four
        • Feedback Sexy Dare Challenge - Five
        • Feedback Sexy Dare Challenge - Six
        • Feedback Sexy Dare Challenge - Seven
    • Created 7 tracker links for each page and then linked from each email installment.
    • Extracted data from Feedback sexy dare form and put visitor stories and dares to extra columns like you mentioned in the video.

    • Also extracted all data from the feedback sexy dare form and put into a word document, so we can use that as a giveaway. Please review.
Preview Sexy Dares Autoresponder 1 Form Update:
  • Since the Sexy Dare Autoresponder 1 Form was also built (Manually) within the Preview Sexy Dares Autoresponder 1 Thank you page, therefore I have reworked the thank you page and replaced the form with the newly created  New Sexy Dare Autoresponder 1 Form.
  • Also made other changes that you advised in another High priority video.
Other Administrative Support:
  • As you asked me to share a pic of my anti-glare glasses. Please see High priority folder, I have saved two images their. Basically, there is no visual difference between a simple lens and an anti-glare lens, and they also come in power lenses.

  • Distributed more party games website pages via RSS feed.
  • Posted a transcribed bloglet "10 Working Days until My Visit to the Philippines" to Ideal Helper

Jomvie's Daily Work Update - Updating Tasks and Project Infographic

Overview
Work Period: Oct 03, 2014
Hours Worked: 3:50 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $9.58*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Updating Posts
  • I’ve updated posts from the past and recent assignments. But, often it blocks me out of focus and that’s why I draw out some other tasks from my inbox just to keep me productive.

  • When your brain absorbs a lot of information (personal and from work), it’s pretty sure a mess. You’ll be left hanging and staring out at the endless horizon :D

Collating Images for Dropbox Video
  • My problem while collating these images, I have no idea how to download these images from a link given by my boss’ main virtual assistant.

  • And looking for a suitable images is very extensive and it takes a lot of time. But, I like it since it breaks my mind off from serious matters and it also gives me a wider range of ideas for the video since it’s too hard to create an interactive video with just a one or two complete sentences. But, I am truly doing my best.

Project Infographic: Outsourcing to the Philippines
  • This project is a bit easier than the video project, since the graphics and icons are already set. But,it also takes time to search for the proper and catchy graphics.

Additional Note/s

  • My internet is slow since earlier this morning, they are fixing the nearby post where my internet is connected. Yesterday (Thursday), the rain is heavy accompanied with a strong wind.

    • Removed unnecessary links, texts and details from all reviewed diary posts and published them.

Preview Sexy Dares Auto-responder 1 Feedback:
  • Inserted the FBI! form Sexy Dares Autoresponder 1 twice within the thank you page of   Preview Sexy Dares Autoresponder 1.
  •  Also fixed the thank you page HTML and illustrated it with images.
  • You have also asked me if it's possible to remove navigation columns and other distractions from the Thank you page, so that we can use this as a selling page, apparently it's not possible with SBI!. The only exception is to build thank you pages with UYOH.
  • I have tried to check if the Goal is already set within Google Analytics, but I am unable to differentiate Goals in Google Analytics. Also, I don't exactly remember how to create new goals, so I request you to show me how to check and create Goals within GA another time. This time I will create a manual for it for future references.

Hours Worked: 3:50 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $22.90*

Ideal-Helper Comment
  • Wrote comments on live page. This helps optimizing the site’s rank and apart from that it drives audience to be interactive and might give out some tips that are not of our knowledge. This is the fun part of my regular and daily task as it also helps me break away when it becomes too serious. :D
