Work Period: July 31, 2014
Hours Worked: 8:05 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $20.17*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Ideal-Helper Proofread

  • Grinding my brain with proofreading task is a good way to jump start my day prior taking into serious tasks that needs brainstorming.

Ideal-Helper Comments

  • Posting comments on live pages is just like posting on facebook or twitter status :D

Content Form

  • I’ve had quite a knack in my brain here and there in this task. Although I am familiar with the task, formulating questions can be hard at times.

Dropbox Infographic

  • Brainstorming for Dropbox’ header..

Vacation Research

  • Researching for places that is just close to each other and worth visiting
  •  It’s a bit challenging task since the place is likely a modernized city with skyscrapers and all and the only living evidence from the past are likely inside the walls of a museum.
  • Although there are modern places to see but it would be great when a tourist visits the wonders of the Philippines.

Jomvie's Daily Work Update - Updating Tasks

Work Period: Jul 30, 2014
Hours Worked: 8:00 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $20.00*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Ideal-Helper Proofread
  • Proofread random pages for Ideal-Helper. It has been awhile that I haven’t got my hands on this task.

Ideal-Helper Comment
  • This task has never been easy but not too difficult. Though I just have to be spontaneous, but most importantly I have to mind what I am going to write.

Pros and Cons of a night owl
  • Writing down the pros and cons of being a night owl just made me think that working in the morning is a lot better and beneficial. But I can’t just ignore the irritating feeling especially in the wee hours of the afternoon. I must say I am in dilemma or likely a love-hate relationship with morning shift :D

  • Since I wasn’t contented with my first infographic with “Guide to SOTAM” I decided to make two copies with different designs:
  •  So, which one looks attractive and which not?

Last tile on SOTAM’s Infographic
  • I am still waiting for some feedback which statistic should I paste here. The right tile is not yet final, it is still subjected to change.

Content Form for webpages
  • Working and grinding my brain on some inviting questions for DUYP and Ideal-Helper.

Work Period: Jul 24, 2014
Hours Worked: 8:10 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $20.33*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Audio review

  • Went over with the audio that tackles about Time-Bonus Ads. I think, rather a little piece of advice; if you can’t clearly understand the first time, better check it out for the second time to avoid overlooking on some important points.

Extracting data from Skype to MS Word
  • I often transfer data from Skype chat to Word. This way, it will help me remember what are the new updates or feedback.
  • Extracting files from Skype is just same as transcribing audio-video recording but easier and not tedious.

SOTAM nutshell - part 2

  • Added all the necessary additional perks--will now wait for another feedback/update. Hopeful to have a final draft and if not just some minor changes will do =)

Jomvie's Daily Work Update - Updating tasks

Work Period: Jul 23, 2014
Hours Worked: 8:15 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $20.50*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Update on Mechanical Turk
  • 48 hours prior from their final notification, I successfully registered as an independent contractor from Philippines.
  • Unfortunately, after 48 hours of deliberation, I’ve been denied to fully register as a full-independent-MTurk-contractor and they will not disclose issue although we already know I am far from their desired country. And this mean I will not be able to access HITs that pays not so generous pay but enough to spend an hour with and the least they can offer is the lowest paying HITs.

SOTAM nutshell - part 2
  • Updating details on SOTAM nutshell. I am getting myself with promotional tools when this TBA-Time-Bonus Ads had me on my feet. Fortunately, I’ve been rescued from further cloud’ing my brain.

Additional Note/s
  • Regarding the exercise earlier on party games website sign-up, I received the notification approx. 2 hours after my registration.

To Francis' Main VA:
  • Please listen to this audio, address to both of us from Francis: Sprachmemo 038.mp4

Ideal-Helper Proofread
  • The essence of a daily task--proofread random pages and again gained some knowledge from the past that might be of help in the present :)

Ideal-Helper Comments
  • Spreading some bits and piece of advice from my real experience through comments and gained more knowledge from others--works both ways.

Created “Task Status”
  • I created a “Task Status” folder on Google Drive wherein I can follow-up on tasks I overlooked and just sort of a guide. I copied this from Francis’ spreadsheet

Jomvie's Daily Work Update - Project SOTAM

Work Period: Jul 22, 2014
Hours Worked: 5:10 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $12.83*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

SOTAM part 2
  • Had to spent hours for project SOTAM on tweaking and optimizing and its freebies/perks/promo tools. And I am hoping, after these perks, we will have our final draft :D

First Transcription
  • Wrote a post regarding “My First Transcription”. It talks about my experience when I first had an encounter with transcribing. I don’t know what are some pros and cons since I tried it only thrice and it’s not a freelance job. I think there’s a difference between transcribing as a freelancer and transcribing as part of your job and mostly it talks about the sentiments of a regular worker transcribing data from his boss’ recorded audio.

To be reviewed
  • My First Transcription

Additional Note/s
  • Took a quick break with ‘proofreading’. Just cooling off for awhile and will go back again with serious matters (SOTAM).

Ideal-Helper Comments
  • Posted comments on live page. Sharing some thoughts and hopefully will gain more knowledge from this simple task--it did actually.

Make Your Content Presell
  • I can’t identify how many pages I can read in an hour since there are technical topics (building website) that I often skim and does not delve in too much on the topic. Currently, I am now on page 40.

Lisbuilding eBook
  • Currently  on “Steal other Lists”. I’ve read it ahead of our skype discussion--so I am waiting to discuss this with Main VA

SOTAM-nutshell part 2
  • Spent most of my time brainstorming and knacked my brains out on this project. Hoping to get this done early this week to move on to other tasks.

Jomvie's Daily Work Update - SOTAM perks and process

Work Period: Jul 17, 2014
Hours Worked: 10:00 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $25.00*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

SOTAM perks and process
  • This has been a great challenge for me ever since I started this task but I find it as a very sensitive project that every detail plays a major role. However, it’s a great challenge that by hook or crook--we’ll make it and hopefully an outcome at its best.
Customary Inbox Check
  • Inbox should be checked on a regular basis to keep myself updated from feedback.

Ideal-Helper Proofread
  • Proofreading has been my favorite and expertise ever since I started this work and I often find this very helpful in warming up my brain during in the morning at the first hours of my shift.

Ideal-Helper comments
  • I am going to start commenting on a live page--but the only problem now is I ran out of ideas.

Additional Note/s
  • System down due to power interruption--sorry for inconvenience.

Note to Francis:

Working at night time
  • There’s no problem with me working from eight in the morning until five in the afternoon. The only thing is that during the wee hours of the afternoon (from 2pm to 4pm), my place is too hot and humid for my brain to work effectively :-|  and sometimes I am fighting off from dozing myself to sleep.
  • Yes, I often find myself productive at night since the hot temperature is cooling off and gives this cozy feel of comfort. I can work in the morning but I am just finishing my lacking hours during at night and I can see the difference most of the time that working at night is comforting. However, I still prefer working in the morning and I do agree with your opinion on “working at night” is often associated more with cons. :D
  • I will resolve this problem in due time or most probably when the “summer months” are over :D
  • And we can still have a chat on Skype; just let me know ahead of your free time
