Jomvie's Daily Work Update - Proofreading and Website Editing

Work Period: Jun 30, 2014
Hours Worked: 7:05 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $17.67*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Customary Inbox Check
  • Checked and cleaned my inbox. I, too. is sometimes confused with my too many folders and document files with my Dropbox. Good thing I managed to take a little time to put them where they truly belong. Often times I am hesitant to move or remove some files because it might be important to the other end.

Regular Daily Task

Ideal-Helper Proofread
  • Proofread random pages to optimize Ideal-Helper’s readability.
  • This task helps my brain getting warm prior to taking in serious tasks

Ideal-Helper Comments
  • Posted random comments to their designated links.
  • I am just hopeful that they will be able to read my comments--at least they can get some ideas that there are other freelancing sites that pays decent amount of money for their hard work.
  • But, I would just love to think that they are doing it just to pass the time.

Ideal-Helper writing comments
  • I’ve wrote random comments for Ideal-Helper but mostly it talked about MTurk.. I am so overwhelmed on how these people are devoted even if it does not pay well. But each countries have different amount and values of money and that’s maybe one of the reasons they take time doing this kind of task. And apart from that, they can find another online or offline job--another additional income.

Eric and Francis transcribed interview
  • Although keywords are sometimes hard to fit in a title or description, I am still grateful because it leads me on the right track ;)

Click Ads
  • Collecting credits for the next batch of emails since I’ve made a terrible mistake by not following instructions :0
  • Hopefully, I will be able to get on track so I can write some stuff for SOTAM firsthand.

To be reviewed
  • Proofreading_Done:
  • Created a spreadsheet on Google drive for the monthly salary:

Additional Note/s
  • Regarding the “safelist-SOTAM” video, it was a video feedback about the SOTAM infographic, so it’s already cleared up.
  • Regarding the “Button Escalation” infographic, I didn’t delete it because of the critic =) I actually deleted it because it’s not yet done and I want to avoid duplicating files.

Party Games Website Members Area Update:
  • Reworked FBI invitation on adult-member-notification page, made all advised changes and also illustrated with an image.

  • Listened the audio about Truth or Dare preview page, and tried to implement all suggested changes. Please have a review of it and let me know about your feedback.

  • Listened to the other audio where you discussed SBI! terms and conditions regarding explicit content, I couldn't find any such post in your Bookmarks, it would be helpful to find this post if you send me the title of the post. Also I already have worked on the preview page before listening to it, so I am afraid that all my efforts and time spent on this page don't go in vain.

Ideal-Helper Website Update:

  • I am now updating the Outsourcing infographic--will continue tomorrow and consume my allotted 40 hours.
  • I would like to know the file location for the video regarding “safelist-SOTAM”

Eric and Francis transcribed interview
  • As always, this task is not easy for me because I have to follow keywords for optimization purposes.
  • There are keywords that are easy to create titles and description with, and there are keywords that will grind your brain thoroughly ;)

Infographic for Button Escalation
  • I think I am getting hooked with this task--it’s like learning while training.
  • I am grateful I’ve finished this task, but it still needs some adjustments and editing. Will wait for feedback so I can update the infographic into one great creation :)

  • I just hope that if I’ll be sending out my email, they’ll do the favor in return.

Infographic--Button Level System
  • Whew! I never thought I’ll be this serious with graphic design :) well, I’ve always find new things challenging but this one is way too challenging since I have to make-up designs on my own.
  • This is not yet final and I would like to ask if I can use the SOTAM Analysis as reference on how Button level works.

Jomvie's Daily Work Update - Sotam Click Ads

Work Period: Jun 23, 2014
Hours Worked: 8:25 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $20.83*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

SOTAM Click Ads
  • I’ve finally reached the 3000 spendable credits, which means another breakthrough in reaching the critical case of SOTAM--an experience I can write for the case study Project SOTAM
  • One way to fully understand a ‘subject’ is for you to personally get a hand of it for yourself. Experience speaks for itself and not something to get a hand without even trying it on your own.

To the Main Virtual Assistant:
  • I’ve reached 3000 credits and I am waiting what to do next since the last instruction is to reach in 3000 credits and make a new catchy template.--waiting for feedback
  • I’ve created template, you might want to check it out.

Ideal-Helper Comments
  • Posted random comments on Ideal-Helper page

Ideal-Helper Proofread
  • Wrote random comments for Ideal-Helper--waiting for approval

Outsourcing Infographic-part 2
  • I have a little problem with images but I can find a way and utilize something else.
  • Although the idea is there, but I am still having problems with making its design
  • I’ve created a new infographic about outsourcing since there are images that are not visible right after it’s created.
  • Infographic eats time and patience--but all in all it’s a great experience

To be reviewed
  • My trial period:  Please review My Trial Period.docx

Additional note/s
  • I would like to ask for any feedback regarding my one month of work---an evaluation perhaps.

Work Update - Members Only Site Building

Work Period: Jun 19 & 20, 2014
Hours Worked: 12:40 @$2.22/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $25.33*
(*Exclusive of $2.79 charged by oDesk)
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Party Games members only section and Content 2.0 messed pages
  • About SBI! utility page and content 2.0 pages, I researched SBI! forums for a solution and created another utility page using the basic design shell and uploaded it to party games website. Although it hasn't worked so far, but I am very hopeful that this will work out well.
  • Next Day Update: Changes I made yesterday did not work out well, all C2 pages are still messed up. Content was not placed at the right place.
  • However, I was very close to the solution so I played around with the HTML file and C2-utilitly-template little more, found and implemented the solution.
  • Although the changes are not live right now and I think it would take some time to update, but I am 100% sure that this will work fine this time.
  • Final Update: Changes I made have finally worked and all c2 pages are fixed now :)
  • Moved the Hockey Strip story to members' area invitation and also uploaded the image to it. I was not sure about it, but I have used a "nfollow" "noindex" tag for this story at the moment, please let me know if you want to remove it.
  • Also added links to "member's area, edit profile and logout" within the SBI! include so that it shows up on every member's C2 page like a SWdot.
  • Also submitted some more stories from explicit content folder to test them and everything is working fine.
  • Submitted all stories with "noindex" and "nofollow" tag. If we don't want to index and follow these pages by search engines, I think it makes sense to add "noindex" and "nofollow" to SBI! include because this way we don't need to add this on every blogpost.
  • C2 comments width is also restored to actual width.

  • Tried to review and understand the Lucid chart regarding members' area, but once again I am unable to understand it :(

Adult Truth or Dare preview page update:
  • Watched the video about the adult truth or dare preview page and made following changes to it:
    • Created a membership form and inserted within the page. I know that you don't plan to use this form on this page, but I have created one and we can copy paste the HTML code to use anywhere.
    • Added a sample header image above the previous header
    • Researched Mailout manager Acceptable policy
    • Updated "Explicit and Real Truth or Dare Stories" section with expand/collapse tags and images.
    •  There are still a lot of open tasks for me to work on.
Other Administrative Support:
  • Created a manual for tier page and content 2.0 pages explanation and shared it with Jomvie.
  • Had a 2 hour Skype discussion with Jomvie. Discussed many projects and tasks with him especially Sotam and Infographics task and tried to clarify and explain different aspects of both tasks.
  • Brainstormed a lot of keywords for Eric interview page, but didn't find any good keywords. Most of the keywords related to 'Virtual assistant communication' we already have used. I have used different options including vertical brainstorm, lateral brainstorm, and seed generator brainstorm but could not find a good keyword for a Tier 2 page.

Jomvie's Daily Work Update - Click Ads

Work Period: Jun 20, 2014
Hours Worked: 7:10 @$2.50/hour
Money Paid to Jomvie: $17.83*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Click Ads
  • I found a new and not-so-dragging way of clicking ads to gain credits on SOTAM (thanks to your main virtual assistant :)
  • Claiming credits can be on-site or through email account and the easiest way to gain credits is clicking it through an email account.
  • Ongoing task

Task Experiences
  • While I was doing the ‘click ads’ I jot down all the experiences, emotions and feelings--wonders of multi-tasking. But it’s nice to serve your ideas fresh.
  • Ongoing task

Project SOTAM--Infographic
  • Button Escalation - been searching for some tools on how to create infographic
  • I found a new tool named Piktochart and here’s my sample craft:

  • I would like to know if you will agree of this software
  • Outsourcing Infographic part 2 - ongoing task

To be reviewed

  • Shortened link comment waiting for a feedback.
  • Rough estimation of hours spent on proofreading Eric/Francis transcribed interview: 7 hours and 10 minutes additional 30 minutes for readability review. Titles/description is not yet included since it still have 14 transcripts to create from.
  • My trial period.

  • I still lack 4 hours and will consume it over the weekend with other tasks and continue with my recent activity.

Jomvie's Daily Work Update - SOTAM Click Ads Experiences

Work Period: Jun 19, 2014

Money Paid to Jomvie: $22.90*
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Customary Inbox Check
  • Regular inbox check is a way of making sure you are in the right track of your work

SOTAM Click Ads Experiences
  • I click ads on state of the art mailer and write down all my experiences and thoughts.
  • Clicking ads sounds fun and easy but in all honesty--it’s not.
  • Had a chat with Francis’ main assistant on Skype. He enlightened and walk me through with what and how does SOTAM works. It’s a breakthrough but I think I still have a long way to go to :)

State of the Art Mailer
  • Planning on starting again with my SOTAM research and will scratch and utilize my previous searches--will use them as reference.

Task Experiences

My First Infographic

  • Created a blogpost with my experience on my First Experience with infographic
  • Although this task sounds pretty easy, but it’s hard to decide on which designs and colors should I put to create a wonderful infographic that can catch a reader’s attention--watch out for my next revision :)

Click Ads-SOTAM
  • SOTAM clicking ads is an ongoing task that needs to be invested with time and emotions. Now that I have a clearer picture on how does credits and cash works while clicking, I might have a lot of emotions to express now. lol

Eric and Francis transcribed interview
  • waiting for feedback on the second transcript of titles and description

Additional Note:
  • I already have a rough estimation on Eric/Francis transcribed interview--wrote it down on one of the Daily Update, will dig it in and post it tomorrow together with the titles and description hours accumulated.

Work Update - General Administrative Support

Work Period: Jun 17 & 18, 2014
Hours Worked: 9:10 @$2.22/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $18.33*
(*Exclusive of $2.02 charged by oDesk)
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

  • Uploaded all Jomvie's pending work updates to virtual assistant diary.
  • Listened to the audio about work update feedback, made all necessary changes and published all said work updates. Not sure whether the audio file was completely synchronized into Dropbox or not because it finished up out of sudden.
  • Also jotted down all the information you have asked to discuss with Jomvie, I have sent him an email to have a Skype chat with me
Party Games Website Update:
  • Received a user submitted wedgie dare post. Submission was good and original, therefore I published it after cleaning and formatting it up. Since the submission was less than 300 words, therefore I published it as "nofollow" and "noindex" because I could not find a page to merge it. Please have a review of Wedgie Dice Dare Fun!
  • Watched the video about how to build membership pages with C2, also read all related SBI! forum posts and tried to implement it on party games website, but it did not work out well. I have also uploaded a c2 utility page based on the given instructions, but it also not worked so I removed it later.
  • Update: Thanks for providing feedback, I am happy that we finally have found a solution for this, but something is still very strange, I have removed the C2 utility template and there is also no 'include' in SBI! file manager. Still the authpro code is working. I will see this again if its still working after 2-3 days, otherwise I will re-upload the C2 utility page along with Include file.
  • As you also have noticed that all content 2.0 invitations are messed up due to this recent change, so I am waiting that it will restored to the actual format and I will then implement another c2-utility-template with SBI! design, but for that we will have to wait until the C2 posts get back to normal. Else we will have to research a fix for this issue.

Work Update - Adding Watermarks to Images

Work Period: Jun 12 & 13, 2014
Hours Worked: 11:10 @$2.22/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $22.33*
(*Exclusive of $2.46 charged by oDesk)
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

Full-time Virtual Assistant Hiring Experiences:
  • There were a lot of audio files lying in my High priority folder that I couldn't listened to so far because of BB2 conversion job. Most of them were outdated and were recorded prior to the hiring of full-time virtual assistant, so there was nothing much for me to work on those.
  • One of the audio files you asked me wrote my experiences during the full-time hiring process. I already have written a thorough article about this topic, please have a review of Full-time VA Hiring Process.docx.
  • However, based on your audio, I wrote another concluding paragraph based on my experience.
Other Administrative Support:
  • Reviewed Jomvie's today work update. Especially I assigned him a task to write Meta title, description and summary for one of the interview pages between you and Eric. Provided him feedback regarding his work and asked him to fine-tune that a bit more based on my feedback.
  • I have divided Merged-Frustrations with outsourcing (Tyrone Shum video) into two parts, then brainstormed keywords for both topics, please have a review of  Merged-Frustrations with outsourcing.docx
  • About your voice message where you asked me to edit Google survey settings so that its visible to visitors all over the world. Unfortunately its not possible with Google Surveys, all surveys are only limited to visitors from the US, UK and Canada.
  •  I have researched and tested a lot of screen capturing and time tracking tools and software that can record productivity even if offline, but unfortunately I couldn't find one. There are some screen monitoring software that provide you such assistance but they are too expensive. Some free ones track your offline time, but don't provide screen capturing facility.
  • Sent more email messages via different list building accounts.
 Party Games Website Update:
  • Researched one image for already approved scary story and submitted that to party games website. Please have a review of Scary Gary! Where are you?
  •  Distributed more pages via RSS feed.
  • About another audio in which you asked to review the interview between you and Luke (party games website topic), I have reviewed the transcript and I really think that the conversation is very interesting. Although I have read it in chunks, but still I found it interesting. On the other hand I suggest you to post this as C2 pages, not as tier pages like we do for ideal-helper interviews.

Work Update - Content Management Support

Work Period: Jun 09, 2014
Hours Worked: 5:20 @$2.22/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $10.67*
(*Exclusive of $1.17 charged by oDesk)
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Medium

  • Cropped the said image and uploaded to the 'About Me' page.
  • Also dragged down the previously uploaded image to a lower position.
  • Added all freelancers' review comments on the right hand column. Since the feedback screenshots you have shared with me were too wide to be posted on the right hand column, therefore I re-worked all of them so that they look appropriate.
  • Also there is a small feedback about the recently videos you have recorded with Jing, they have a very low audio quality. The volume is very low and almost impossible to understand.

Party Games Website Members' Area:
  • My feedback regarding adult member's page: Last time the project got stuck because we couldn't find a way to restrict content 2.0 pages and still we haven't find a solution for this (Since we cannot include a Javascript code to C2 pages). I have also tried once more to find a solution both from SBI! forums and Authpro help, but couldn't find a solution.
  • The other solution is to use BlockBuilder pages for content, but this would take a lot more time than usual because if we use this method we will have to manually convert all user-submitted posts into BB2 pages. So there are still lots of confusion and open edges about what procedure we will follow for user-submitted posts.

Content 2.0 Administrative Support:
  • Received a short user submission, which I added within an already built page.
  • Received another short story that I posted as a comment under The Funniest Truth or Dare Game I Have Ever Played
  • Received another short story (Hockey Strip) that I published and merged into Collection of Stripping Truth or Dare Stories . Visitor also submitted an original image of her, but that was too explicit to be posted, so I removed it. Did not distribute it via RSS feed.
  • Another submission was single liner to I added it into another already built page: Great Dares for Guys and Girls

Other Administrative Support:
  • Thanks for Providing feedback for pending work updates, I have published all pending updates (from both Jomvie and Myself) after making necessary changes.
  • Listened to other audio files from the high priority folder and made all necessary changes.
  • Sent more email messages via different list mailing accounts.
