Work Update - Craigslist Ad Posting and Alternative Research

Billed Hours: 11 @$2.22/hour
Billed Amount: $24.42

(A Screenshot from today's work diary)

Craigslist Support:
  • Transcribed the following craigslist ads, please have a review of Dropbox and proofread the documents.
    • Success as a virtual assistant
    • Learn from Me on How I Became a Successful Virtual Assistant
  • About posting ads to craigslist in native languages, I think that it will not work. First, craigslist is not very popular in this part of the region (I have researched some traffic stats comparison, please review Craigslist project folder in Dropbox. OLX is a kind of website which is more popular here (I can say it surely at least for India and Pakistan).
Second, posting Ads in Native languages is not a trend here, all ads are being posted in English so I think an ad in English would be much trusted as compare to local languages.

Linkedin is also becoming popular and is most trusted when searching for a job, however as you know linkedin requires a lot of time and effort to establish a trust as you should link a lot of relevant connections.
Blogger Diary Support:
  • About using WordPress for diary.ideal-helper.com, I think that for a simple blog like this blogger is sufficient because WordPress would be much more advanced and complicated.
  • Reminder: Listened to a voicemail, in which you asked me to remind you about $2/hour really? page.
  • Updated the 4th January 2013's diary page according to your voicemail feedback. Please have a review. its still saved in draft.

Administrative Support:
  • In reply to your voicemail about the 'outsourced job search' subproject, I think nothing is pending for this project and this can be removed from website projects excel sheet.
  • Turned Mobilizeit! on for ideal-helper, I have tried and tested many online mobile emulating websites but neither of them gave actual preview, most of them had the same desktop preview. Perhaps I will test it again after some time.
  • Also listened and work through all of most of your voicemails, two of them were totally blank and didn't have any audio
  • Sent a reply email to Kareeza (an ex virtual team member), you were also copied there so I hope that you are already aware of it.
  • About upgrading ideal-helper Youtube Channel, the channel is already upgraded to Youtube one. However, I have updated some social media links to its profile.

Party Games Website Support:
  • Approved four newly received funny dares, added them to the related excel-sheet and then marked each of them with the suitable category.
  •  Rotated more pages via Rss.
  • Published the following two new stories, please review them and let me know if you need any proofreading.
    • My First Kiss
    • Locked Out!
  • Linked the said text to wedgies page to Anna and Sarah's Diaper Dare Stories

  • Researched pictures for some pending stories and submitted them all (Publishing only one story a day).
  • Although I still have 5 new/unpublished truth or dare stories, but still I have ordered a new batch of 10 stories via Mechanical Turk.
List-Mailers Support:
  • Earned some more free credits and then sent a new advertising email to the members of all free list-mailers.

  • Transcribed and replied the answer to Musafir via SBI! webmail
  • Changed comments settings to be shown on the same page for Stories about stripping dares outside
  • About digital stamping of new flickr image, since flickr has changed it's look and feel, therefore at the moment the service I have used for stamping of images isn't working. However I am recording all new flickr URLs to a spreadsheet and will stamp all these photos as soon as the issue is fixed.
  • Rotated more Pages via Rss

Administrative Support:

  • Transcribed and commented the answer to Mechanical Turk Video, the length of the comment was more than allowed, therefore divided the comment into two parts. Please have a review.

  • About Coaching video 1 (how to use odesk), I have saved a word document with possible loops, please have a look of Dropbox (Open Loops for Coaching_1.docx)
  • I have tried to cloak several links with viralurl, but I think it's not possible to add a facebook cloaking link, I have also tried to cloak other facebook posts, but neither of them worked. However its working fine with links other than facebook (for example I have tested many ideal-helper urls and all of them worked fine)

Work Update - Setting Up Virtual Assistant's Diary @ Blogger

Overview
Work Period: May 24, 2013
Hours Worked: 05:40 @$2.22/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $11.33*
(*Exclusive of $1.25 charged by oDesk)
Overall Difficulty of Tasks: Easy

(A screenshot from today's work diary)

    • How to Hire a VA Effectively
    • The No Bullshit Guide to Outsourcing

Idea-Helper Mobilize It Beta Testing:

  • Turned IH to Mobilize It Beta, please accept sandbox,
  • Here are some general issues:
    • In my mobile device, some navigation texts were incomplete. For example 'outsourcing to odesk' is shown as 'outsourcing to' & 'odesk case studies' is 'odesk case' and there were many other similar incomplete text buttons, Therefore I have reduced the size of nav-bar text and now it's looking fine. Please have a review and let me know if the text is too small and hard to read out.
    • Same a lot of whitespace in between facebook and share this page widget.
  • Else the beta test is good, please spend some time with it and let me know when it needs to be live for all.
Administrative Support:
  • I have implemented your said changes to ListBuilding_Tracking spreadsheet.
  • About sending emails with viralmailprofits, I think this service is the most complicated one and I rank this the lowest because it's very time consuming. First of all, one ad only gives you 4-6 credits (whereas other give 10-15 credits/ad), second it also ask to solve a captcha type image, that is why average credits/min are too low i.e 27. The only good thing it has that we can schedule an email, but for that we'll need a lot of credits and its really difficult to create 1000 credits/week.

Party Games Website Update:

  • Distributed more pages via Rss.
  • Here is today's newly published story: Truth - Are You A Virgin
  • Approved some of the newly received truth or dare stories and submitted some of them after researching one flickr picture for each.

  • Regarding Sharethis bar, I have tried many ways to minimize the code by using a container block, but nothing worked. We can only customized its place to either on the left or the right. Work Update - Email List Mailing Time Estimation

Overview
Work Period: May 03, 2013
Hours Worked: 06:40 @$2.22/hour
Money Paid to Me (Virtual Assistant): $13.33*
(*Exclusive of $1.47 charged by oDesk)

(A screenshot from today's work diary)
  • About your question where you asked me that how much time it took for earning free credits, for a trial I earned 879 free points in 10 minutes in Sotam (State of the Art Mailer). Every listmailer has different numbers of free credits.

For example sotam offers around 12-15 credits per mail, but there are other services that offer more credit points and some of them also award less credits. but I think that on average one can easily earn 600-700 free credits in 10 minutes.
  • For some of the services like viralurl and viralinbox, you need to view all windows at the same time whereas in others you can browse multiple tabs. For trial in viralinbox I have earned around 3000 credits in 20 minutes

Party Games Website:

  • Made all said changes to the homepage FBI! poll
  • Cleaned up and published another newly received C2 story. Because it was less than 300 words therefore used a 'nofollow' 'noindex' tag for it. Please have a review.
